Come loiter where groove meets grit! Please join The Double Stops for our StageNorth debut on Thursday, September 24. StageNorth is a world-class proscenium theater located on the stunning South Shore of Lake Superior’s Chequamegan Bay in Washburn, WI.
StageNorth Theater, founded by John and Ana Weinel and artist Jan Lee, has been a beloved community venue since its opening in 2001. Inspired by John Weinel’s experience with the 1978 Wayzata Wind Symphony, StageNorth found its home in a renovated church in Washburn, WI, and later moved to a new, world-class facility on 123 Omaha Street in 2007. The theater, with stunning views of Lake Superior, features 150 seats, state-of-the-art technical facilities, and beautiful handcrafted details by local artists. Now operated by Big Top Chautauqua, they’re excited to expand their reach by offering a variety of performances—comedy, theatre, music, and more—at StageNorth. This partnership brings fresh acts to the region while continuing the legacy of this beloved local venue. Come connect and share the arts in new and exciting ways!
Based in the Chippewa Valley, The Double Stops duo performs a relaxing blend of guitar-centric pop, classic rock, 90s alternative, vocal jazz, and originals. The Double Stops is Emily Watkins (guitar, vox) and Dustin DeGolier (guitar, vox).
